Morocco’s long celebrated tradition of carpet weaving lives on
Morocco’s carpet weaving industry employs around 20 percent of the country’s 10-million workforce, mainly in small, medium sized businesses.
The small town of Taznakht in the south of Morocco is famous for its carpet.
The Berbers, as people from this part are known, weave carpets with care and it is a very distinct ritual that is passed from generation to generation.
The tradition, which is also a source of income for many households, is still going strong.
