Space junk problem alarms NASA

Scientists say if left unaddressed, space debris could make parts of Earth’s orbit partially or even completely unusable, which would pose problems for the satellites we rely on every day.

The growing amount of debris in earth’s atmosphere is interfering with satellites that have been sent into space.

NASA estimates that there are more than a hundred million pieces of space debris just floating around up there.

Space debris is essentially things that at some time were launched into space, but no longer serve any function.

TRT World’s Kerry Alexandra explains what NASA is doing to combat the clutter.
